Day 23 | Friday Favorites

Momfessionals

{One}
Yesterday I worked until 2:00pm and then Scott and I went to our FAVORITE girl's teacher conference.
We got nothing but a glowing report on her and the only concern is that she gets really anxious.
We have noticed over the last year that she has lots of anxiety about things,
I'm sure it has a lot to do with the changes and losing family members/pets that she has gone through this year.
But it is a tough time for her. Her teacher is helping her with this, but sometimes I wish that we had the teacher she had last year as she was a Christian and a mom and was much more compassionate towards her.
Anyways, it was a great report, but we need to keep encouraging her and praying with her about it.

{Two}
11:11 is EK's FAVORITE time; she got this idea that if you see the time, you should make a wish.
A couple of times this week, I have glanced at my phone clock and it has said 11:11

{Three}
We leave really early in the mornings for school, when it is still dark.
So even though it stinks to leave that early, some of my FAVORITE times is when we get to see the sunrise.
This was from yesterday and it was absolutely gorgeous!

{Four}
And this just might be my FAVORITE shirt of EK's now.
I have finally started my Christmas shopping and when I saw this online with an order I was placing, I just knew she had to have it.
I wish they made it in my size!

{Five}
The kids have this game on my phone (I don't even know what it's called), but it is their FAVORITE.
I always have these random pictures of beauty queens on my phone that they have saved after they create them. This would not be MY favorite thing.

Days 20-22 | Another Catch-Up and Menu

Well, I fell off the bandwagon again and didn't write. So this week has been more of the same. Crazy family stuff to deal with, but instead of eating bad stuff, I have decided that I am going to get this body into somewhat shape and start walking. So, I walked Monday-Wednesday and have tried eating a little better and I therefore am feeling better about things. I walked 2/3 of a mile last night. Go me!!!

So here is the menu for next week:

Saturday - Chicken Lazone with mashed potatoes
Sunday - Community Group
Monday - Beef Stroganoff Meatballs
Tuesday - Tacos
Wednesday - French Dip Sandwiches
Thursday - Chicken Fiesta Soup
Friday - Chili

Days 17-19 | Catch-Up

Day 17:
EK had another good week

And we ended the week by having nachos and watching Turner and Hooch

Day 18:
Easton had soccer at 9am.
We then went for haircuts and to the grocery store.
This is then the attitude that we got to deal with all day with EK {Not fun!}

We made some cupcakes to help the attitude
{it didn't help much}

And why is it that cupcakes never look like they should from the magazine
{this was supposed to be an owl}

I took the kids to the park to get out some energy.
Then I headed to Girls' Craft Night at a neighbor's house and made these cute candy corn

Day 19:
We went to church and then went to Scott's mom's house to get some stuff from the garage that was his dad's.
We put together the stuff from the garage and I took the kids to the park again.
We were going to go to Community Group, but decided to just order pizza and
hang out at home instead since Saturday had been go-go-go all day long.

Day 16 | Lunch and Menu

Yesterday, I got to have lunch with Cassi, who is the children's minister at our church and also a sweet friend of mine. We hadn't seen each other in a while since she had been serving at our other campus, so it was nice to catch up. She is anticipating the arrival of her baby soon and I can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl!

Last night EK wasn't feeling very well, but she pushed through and went to dance. We then came home, ate some soup for dinner and headed to bed.

And here's the menu for this coming week:

Saturday - Hamburger Wild Rice Casserole and making Pumpkin Sin Dip for Girls' Night
Sunday - Community Group
Monday - Stuffed Shells
Tuesday - Pot Roast
Wednesday - Chicken and Dumplings
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Fall Festival

Day 15 | Paint and Parenthood

Last night was date night. We went and picked out paint colors for Easton's room. I am hoping these will look good together. We're thinking of doing the orange on the top and then blue on the bottom.

We ended the night by watching Parenthood - Season 5 on Netflix. I am so sad that the season currently on TV is the last. I will definitely miss this show!

Day 14 | Finally Fall (for a moment)

Finally on Monday, a cool front came in. The weather was perfect yesterday and the kids were finally able to wear their pumpkin shirts I made them!
Yesterday after work, we came home and Scott had cooked a delicious dinner. We then played outside for a little bit while we waited for the babysitter to come and watch the kids while Scott and I went to counseling. The kids LOVE this sitter and are sooo excited that she is getting married next year. Easton asks me daily about when the wedding is.

Day 13 | Day of Rest

Yesterday, the kids and I were off work/school and we had a lazy day.
It was perfect!

We had lots of crafting and painting

Enjoyed listening to the rain and the cooler weather coming in

Some of the final craft projects

We had a few "baking" and "cooking" sessions

 And had an afternoon snack of mac and cheese

And ended the day by playing with shaving cream
(Can you tell Easton slowly removed his clothing throughout the day? Ha!)

We had Pioneer Woman's chicken noodle soup for dinner and it was delicious!

Days 10, 11 and 12 | The Weekend

Day 10:
The kids and I went to the grocery store right after work since I got off a little early.
Scott met us there and we got it done really quick.
Every Friday night we try to do movie night with the kids.
This Friday we watched Matilda because EK had just read the book.
It is one of those movies that I can watch again and again.

Day 11:
Easton woke up ready to do some crafts. This boy is always wanting to paint and create.

We went to Easton's soccer game and it was raining at the beginning, so all the boys huddled under the umbrella and then started playing with it. Silly boys!

I LOVE this drink and especially love that it is made at the Dublin plant.
After the lawsuit with Dr Pepper, the family in Dublin continued to bottle drinks under
their own name and this is my favorite flavor.
I was very excited to see that they have it at my HEB now!

Silly girl walked out in the rain for a while and just sang away to her MP3 player

We went to Aunt Chris' house for game night in the evening and
EK got to hold sweet Cadence for a while. I then stole her and didn't let go of her most of the night.

EK and Daddy playing games with some of the boys.
She and Easton ended up playing football outside and had SOOO much fun

Day 12:
We started the day by going to Daddy's warehouse so he could load some stuff up.
The kids like to play "mission" while we are there.
They sit at Scott's desk and think up a spy mission and then go into the warehouse
and run between the furniture and then up and down the ramps outside.
 We went and got Halloween costumes and then came home to relax.
The kids and I went on a walk and collected nature things.

Some creations from the nature collection

We ended the evening by going to church. It was held at Jones' Hall last night
since it was our church's 3rd anniversary. This year the goal is to be all about Jesus and do whatever He leads us to do. I love it!
It was pretty neat singing worship to God in a big place like that.

Day 8 and 9 | The Bumps

Momfessionals
Day 8:
Scott picked up the mattress from the store and he put it in Easton's room. I wish I had gotten a picture of it, but he looks so tiny in it because it up a lot higher than his other bed.
The kids and I then went to the park for Neighborhood Park Play Day.
One of my FAVORITE times of the week is this when we get to go so the kids can run and play together and the moms can just get to chat with eachother.

Day 9:
EK had dance last night, so Scott was sweet and stayed home with Easton and I got some alone time in my car reading, which alone time with quiet is one of my FAVORITE things.
This has been a CRAPPY year with lots of different things and right now our family is going through lots of bumps in the road. This week has really been rough for me emotionally and it was sweet of my hubby to give me that time to just be by myself.

And I just had to post this video. Lately I feel like I hate my body. My pants don't fit like they used to, but I have to remember that I birthed 2 babies and they are my permanent bump. I have 2 bumps by the names of EmmyKate and Easton and I wouldn't trade them for the world.
I would say this might be one of my FAVORITE things coming from a celebrity

Day 7 | Mattress Shopping

Yesterday after eating off work, I headed to pick up the kids.
We got home, ate some leftovers and then headed out to look for Easton a mattress.
One place was way too high but we found a great deal at the next location.
As a reward for the kids being good while we were there, we stopped for some ice cream.

We then headed home and watched the new show The Flash. Easton loved it!

Day 6 | Drawing and Writing

Yesterday was kind of a blah day with some family stuff, so when we came home I unloaded the kids backpacks and cooked dinner. We had Cheeseburger Flatbreads, which I thought were yummy, but EK said they were just okay.
We then played outside for a little while and then decided to take a walk with the dog.
I really wish that one of my good friends still lived in the neighborhood so we could go walking every night.
It stinks being a working mom sometimes because all of the stay at home moms go and work out together in the neighborhood and then there is no one left for me to go and walk with and I don't want to do it by myself. Oh well!

We then came home and got on PJs and Easton worked on some crafts. He is VERY into drawing, crafting and writing right now. EK was working on a Halloween story and he decided he needed to write also.
