Challenge Day 6: Superheros

Today's challenge is your favorite superhero. Being a girl, I really could care less about superheros. However, there was 1 that I watched when I was little and it was Shera! I remember the only time I got grounded as a kid (it was for writing on the floor), my punishment was not getting to watch Shera. That's how much I liked it. Now EmmyKate has started watching it on NetFlix with Scott in the mornings. They also watch Voltron, which apparently was one of his favorite cartoons as a kid.

Challenge Day 5: Where Have You Been?

The challenge for today is a place we have been to, so I chose the place that we ate at on Saturday. It is an old hole in the wall in Houston that we had never tried, but it was sooo good.

Check out the po-boy that I had! It was fried shrimp po-boy with a side of fries with ketchup all over them and a big Coke! Yummy!

(And I have no idea why it is bolding and underlining things. Weird!)

Challenge Day 4: Habit to Break

The challenge for today is to tell a habit that you wish that you could break. I have 2. One of them is an inner habit and one of them is an outward habit.

1. Outward habit: I have a horrible habit of biting my lip. Consequently, I always have dry and chapped lips. Which then this just makes me want to bite them more. It is a horrible cycle just like biting your nails and I really, really wish I could break it. I have done it as long as I can remember and just can't stop myself!

2. Inward habit: I am always comparing myself to others. I look at them and think, "Well, they get to stay home and I don't" or "They have lots of kids and I don't" or "They are adopting and I am not". You name it, and I compare myself. Why do we as people do this? I need to be content in what God has given me and stop doing all of this comparing!

Challenge Day 3: Pictures of your Friends

Today's challenge is Pictures of your Friends

Now, I have said before that I don't have tons of friends. I had friends in college, but I mostly hung out with Scott, so none of them were life lasting relationships. I have other friends from different stages of my life that I get together with for Girl's Night Out. And then there are friends at work, who I would consider very good friends.

However, the friends that are my best friends are my sisters and my Mom. There is not a day that goes by that I don't talk to one of them. I don't know what I would do without my sisters and mom!

Challenge Day 2: What's in a Name?

Today's challenge is The Meaning of Your Blog Name

Well, mine is pretty simple. Our last name is Maynard and these are the moments of our life (that just made me think of a soap opera, which one was that with that little slogan in it's openner?) I used to have another website, but it was hard to add pictures. So then I started this one 4 years ago (can you believe it?) and I loved it! I have met people on here that I never thought I would meet and we are now "blog friends". Crazy!!!

Now something else on names...

My sister in law is having a c-section today (this is 2 weeks earlier than she had planned) and we don't know if she is having a boy or a girl. I am beyond excited!!! So, later today we will know if we have a new nephew or neice. Last time we were together they had not decided on a boy name yet and they had not even discussed girl names because they are convinced it is not a girl (this is Baby #5 and #1-4 are all boys!). I'll let you know what God has blessed us with soon!

*Update - Baby #5 is a boy and the name is Archer. Easton and Archer are going to get into lots of messes together, I just know it!

Challenge Day 1: 15 Interesting Facts

My sister started doing this blog challenge last month, and since I feel like I am in a blogging slump I am going to steal her idea (that she stole from someone else, ha!). It is a challenge to blog every day for a month.

So the assignment for today is a recent picture of yourself and 15 interesting facts.

Seeing as I am a mom and always behind the camera, I can not find any "recent" pictures of myself. I have ones from EmmyKate's party and it seems like those were the last ones. So you are just going to get the 15 interesting facts (or boring facts, whichever way you want to look at it)!

1. I love, love, love to read and love to hold a used book in my hand. I would much rather get a book at Half Price Books or the library rather than buying one new. There is just something about the worn pages that makes it even more fun to read (and paperback is wayyy better!)

2. I love to be pregnant. I am always so sad after I my babies because I don't have a belly anymore. If I could, I would have about 6 kids!

3. I am really shy and it takes me a while to get to know people because I am not just one to walk up to you and start a conversation. I wish I was different in that way!

4. I hate to talk on the telephone. I am so glad that someone invented texting because I prefer it. This goes back to being shy, I know!

5. I love to cook, I just wish I had more time to do it. I always try to make something yummy on the weekends because I have more time to do it.

6. My favorite store is Target. I think I could go there every day and not get tired of it.

7. I love anything antique. The more worn out a piece of wood furniture is, the better. I love it when the paint is peeling off and it has chips in it.

8. I got my degree in education and then taught for 12 weeks for student teaching and decided that was enough for me. I still work in the field of education, just not with kids.

9. Despite the previous statement, I love kids and can't get enough of them. I just don't want to teach and wipe noses of children that don't belong to me. Yuck!

10. I love doing cross-stitching and am in need of a new project. I am just tired of doing stockings. Can you think of anything else I could stitch?

11. I like to scrapbook, but have not done so in over a year. I have just decided that I am going to have to print out my blog every year and use that as my scrapbook since having more than 1 kid does not allow time for this hobby any longer.

12. If I could visit anywhere in the world, I think it might be Greece like in the movie Mama Mia. It is beautiful and I think it would be so fun to visit there.

13. I really don't like to drink coffee. I would much rather have a Dr. Pepper or Coke to start my day.

14. I love to fill out forms and make lists. My husband thinks that I am weird, but it brings me great joy to fill out forms.

15. I played the baby bass drum in high school for 2 years. I loved it, but my knees don't love it anymore. Carrying that heavy drum ruined them and they really hurt on cold days or when I am really tired, which just happens to be today!
