Garlic is Saving me Again!

I know I post about this once a year or so, but I just had to do another plug for it. On Friday when we came home from the Renaissance Festival (pictures to follow tomorrow), we started cleaning the house. Scott had decided that we would get our carpet cleaned in the den (and I am grateful because it desperately needs it). So, in the middle of my cleaning before putting up Christmas decortations, he took everything off the bookcases and dusted it all. Then he moved the bookcases into our front room (where I have now permanently placed them because it makes it so much more cozy in there!) Well, with all this cleaning there was dust everywhere. My poor head started to hurt and by the time I woke up on Saturday my throat was hurting, my nose was running, my ears hurt and I felt like crud!!!

EmmyKate and I went to my mom's house that afternoon and just hung out. My mom and sister were sweet and kept EmmyKate away from me for about an hour while I took a nap on my mom's bed. Then we got up and headed to Hobby Lobby and I made a stop at the grocery store to pick up some garlic. I had wanted to take some the night before, but was all out. So on Saturday evening I took 2 cloves (chopped up and swallowed whole). My throat was killing me that night, but by the time I woke up Sunday morning I was much better. I took 2 more yesterday morning, then last night and again this morning. I am feeling soooo much better!!!

So, if you ever get a cold, make sure you start taking garlic. It will knock it out in no time! I promise it does not taste bad (just reminds you of a pizza, which I am craving anyways) and you do not smell bad. Do this twice a day for several days and you will be feeling much better, and it saves you the cost of a prescription and a co-pay to your doctor. I spent $1 at the grocery store, when I could have spent $50 once it turned into a sinus infection!

Garlic to the Rescue!!!

Over the summer I posted on my new found medicine. It is garlic!!! I get tired of everytime I have a sinus infection I have to go to the doctor for them to tell me that I have one (though I already know) and then they write me a prescription. I also get tired of having to put the medicine in my body when I can just take something that we already eat. So hince, my love for garlic.
Last week I came down with a cold that I caught from EK. On Monday I sneezed all day and by that night I knew I had caught the cold. Then Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I kept feeling worse and worse. By Thursday afternoon I felt really bad and knew that I had another sinus infection. I was going to the grocery store, so I picked up a bundle of fresh garlic and when I got home I sliced myself up a couple of cloves of it. I swallowed them and then did the same thing the next morning. By Friday night I was feeling much, much better. I have continued to do this the last several days and my sinus infection is on it's way out.
My family gets so tired of me saying it, but garlic really does work! So next time you feel the sniffles coming on, go and get yourself a bundle of garlic and chop up a clove. Your body will thank you for it!
