Easton Funnies

1. We showed the kids The Sandlot on Friday night. Easton asked to watch it again on Sunday. After the scene in the movie where the kids ride the carnival ride and then throw up all over everyone on the ride, Easton went to Scott and asked him for some money. Scott gave him a quarter and a nickel. Then he asked Easton what he needed it for. Easton said "Because if I can find one of those rides, I am going to ride it". He now carries the quarter and nickel everywhere, just in case we find a carnival ride for him to get on.

2. Easton asked me on the way to school if could have a piece of gum when I picked him up from school. I told him that he could. Then he said "Well, good, because I am going to chew it and then stretch it out really far. Because Mommy, exercise is my life and now gum is my life" I don't know where he gets this stuff!

3. I love it when he says "axealently" instead of "accidentally"

4. On Saturday, Easton had his first soccer game. At half time, he came and ate a few chocolate covered almonds. Then during the second half, he kept running off the field and coming up to me to say "I need another energy snack". We would start yelling at him to get back on the field.

Easton Funnies

I don't want to forget some of the silly things that Easton says right now. He cracks us up pretty much every day:

  • He calls the radio, his "rodeo"
  • His favorite song on the "rodeo" is Shake by Mercy Me. When it comes on, he screams "That's my favorite song". He did that last night as he was supposed to be going to sleep, so I went in, pulled him out of bed and we danced around the room.
  • If something goes wrong he says "Dad-shoot"
  • Also, he will be talking away (which he does as soon as I pick him up from school) and all of a sudden, he will slap his knee and say "Awww Shoot, I forgot ....."
  • We were on our way to a baseball game and Scott asked who wanted nachos. Easton said "My head is thinking it wants some nachos. Yep, it's thinking 'This guy here, he NEEDS some nachos'" while pointing to himself
  • He likes to look at us out of the corner of his eye because he knows that will make all of us laugh

Kids Say the Darndest Things

1. We were in the car and EmmyKate kept saying "1,2,3, Not It", so we all started doing it. Easton loved that game. We got to talking about something and quit playing the game. Then the conversation ended and everything got quiet. Then all of a sudden Easton says "Not Dit". I guess he thought the game was back on!

2. I was taking EmmyKate to my mom's house to spend the night and she asked me if Mimi got a new car. I told her that she did get a new one. She said "Well, that's good Mommy because I made Mimi a card and wrote 'I like your new car', but I just wasn't sure if I had been dreaming that"

3. EmmyKate told me that sometimes when she is at school she will be sitting there and she starts to wonder whether she is really at school or if she is just having a dream. So she says she will "just shake her little head to wake herself up and make sure she isn't dreaming".

4. Easton started saying "Ohhh-Ka" a few weeks ago if we asked him a question and the answer was yes. The other day he decided that was not okay anymore and now he will just give us a very sure head nod to give his answer. Too funny!

Scotch Talent

Don't forget the Giveaway, no one has entered yet!!!

Last night as I was laying in EmmyKate's bed we had the following conversation:

EK: Punkin needs a collar (*Punkin is our cat*)
Me: Why?
EK: Because she can jump really high
Me: Well, okay, but why does she need a collar?
EK: Because she can jump this high (shows me her hands), but Lizzie can only jump this high (Lizzie is the neighbor's cat)
Me: Oh, okay, and so why does she need a collar?
EK: So in case I ever go on Scotch Talent she won't run away from me
Me: Oh, really, so Punkin is going to be your act?
EK: Yes, because I can't do anything else, so she will help me win on Scotch Talent
Me: Okay, we'll work on that for you

*And just to clarify, Scotch Talent is America's Got Talent, she just says it weird*
