Well, I fell off the bandwagon again and didn't write. So this week has been more of the same. Crazy family stuff to deal with, but instead of eating bad stuff, I have decided that I am going to get this body into somewhat shape and start walking. So, I walked Monday-Wednesday and have tried eating a little better and I therefore am feeling better about things. I walked 2/3 of a mile last night. Go me!!!
So here is the menu for next week:
Saturday - Chicken Lazone with mashed potatoes
Sunday - Community Group
Monday - Beef Stroganoff Meatballs
Tuesday - Tacos
Wednesday - French Dip Sandwiches
Thursday - Chicken Fiesta Soup
Friday - Chili

Day 16 | Lunch and Menu
Yesterday, I got to have lunch with Cassi, who is the children's minister at our church and also a sweet friend of mine. We hadn't seen each other in a while since she had been serving at our other campus, so it was nice to catch up. She is anticipating the arrival of her baby soon and I can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl!
Last night EK wasn't feeling very well, but she pushed through and went to dance. We then came home, ate some soup for dinner and headed to bed.

Saturday - Hamburger Wild Rice Casserole and making Pumpkin Sin Dip for Girls' Night
Sunday - Community Group
Monday - Stuffed Shells
Tuesday - Pot Roast

Day 24 | Teacher Conference
We started the day with everyone getting up late because EmmyKate and Easton had both woken up in the middle of the night and Mommy and Daddy were tired. Easton then started crying because Daddy had already left for work and he didn't get to see him. However, once we were out the door everyone was happy and ready to go.
We had EK's Parent Teacher Conference yesterday, so Scott and I met with her teacher. She got all A's this 9 weeks. We are so proud of her! We then went and picked her up from Grandma's house and picked up Easton and then we went to get frozen yogurt as a treat for the good grades. After that we headed home and EK changed for dance class. Easton and Scott stayed home while we went to dance class and they watched Transformers while we were gone. Can I just say that Scott and I both love that Easton is into superhero and transformer kind of stuff. Out of all the little boy things that he could love, we love that he likes these! He can use his imagination so much when playing it!
Scott had cooked spaghetti for dinner, so we ate and then just hung out. I was supposed to go to Bible study at my neighbor's house, but all of a sudden I got a stomach ache and decided it would be best not to go. I was so sad to not go because this was our last meeting until the new year. However, we get to see eachother at the park at least once a week and then we are planning a Polar Express party for December and I can't even tell you how excited I am about that!
Here's our menu for next week:
Sunday - Doritos Casserole
Monday - Chicken Spaghetti
Tuesday - Leftovers
Wednesday - Date Night
Thursday - Chili
Friday - Hot dogs
Saturday - French Onion Soup

Day 16 and 17 | Sickness Again
Wednesday started with us getting up and ready for school and work. Scott was out of town at the beginning of the week for work, so I was on my own with the kids. I got a phone call on the way to work that it was Bosses Day, so we had to scramble on what we were going to do. We settled on ordering lunch for everyone.
After work, I ran by the library to pick up a book and then headed to my mom's house for dinner. She made one of my favorites, Chipped Beef on toast, and I think we won EmmyKate over on it too. Yum, yum!
Easton was acting extra quiet and over the hour that I was there he started running fever and just felt yucky. We went home and then Daddy surprised us by coming home a day early! Easton went to bed early and Mommy and Daddy stayed up and watched 2 episodes of Parenthood. We went to bed around 10:30 and then EK woke up 3 times before midnight whining and getting mad at her dream (please tell me how I can stop this problem!). Then at 12:40 Easton woke up having thrown up in his bed. He was up until about 2am throwing up 2 more times. He then woke up at 5:40am having thrown up again and was up for the day. Needless to say, Mommy and Easton stayed home on Thursday.
Of course, he was fine all day Thursday, but Mommy was very tired! We hung out at home all day with Daddy and then I took EK to dance class. We had a yummy pot of Hamburger Soup for dinner. The kids headed to bed around 8pm and then we watched 2 more episodes of Parenthood. This last season is sooo sad, but I LOVE the show!
Menu for next week:
Sunday - Comfort Meatballs
Monday - Sloppy Joes
Tuesday - Grilled Cheese
Wednesday - Simple Beef and Noodles
Thursday - Drive through
Friday - Homemade Pizza
Saturday - Easy Enchilada Casserole

Day 10 | 10 on 10 {October 2013}
The kids thought the clouds were pretty cool on the way to school this morning
I took a load of cookie dough to work to deliver
My view on the file cabinet by my desk
Easton practiced balancing on the walk into dance class. He actually made it all the way down without falling off
Scott took my car to get the oil changed yesterday and they replaced the wipers. In the process, they cracked my windshield, so now I get a new one for free!
EmmyKate amused herself by taking pictures in the car
Easton proudly wore his macaroni necklace all evening
(and don't dare tell him it is noodles, it is only macaroni!)
Whataburger after dance was what's for dinner!
I love that the entertainment center is constantly filled with Easton's toys while he is playing
And did you know that October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month. This is my beautiful niece Bailey (who Easton shares a birthday with).
Monday - Red Beans and Rice with Sweet and Salty Peanut Butter Bars
Tuesday - Grilled Cheese
Wednesday - Chipped Beef (Mom is making for me. Yeah!)
Thursday - Hamburger Soup
Friday - Grieving Cowboy Casserole
Saturday - Out to eat

Day 3 | Doctors and Dance
The day started with EmmyKate having an attitude. I am very, very tired of the attitude. I then realized that she might have a bladder infection which could be causing the attitude. So off we went to school and I called the doctor to make an appointment for her. I LOVE our new doctor as the one we had used for 7 years was getting hard to make appointments with. I hated switching away from her, but I think it was a good thing in the end.
My mother-in-law dropped EmmyKate off at my office after school and then we jumped in the car to go to the doctor. It turns out she has the beginning of an infection, but we can just treat it without antibiotics. We then went and picked Easton up from daycare and since we had about 20 minutes to kill before EK's dance class, we stopped by the park.
After playing for just a little bit, we got back in the car and went to dance class. EK is taking a hip hop class and she really likes it. She is not too sure about the recital in the Spring because she is afraid everyone will be looking at just her, so we are working on that.

After dance class we got in the car to go home and the attitude started again. The attitude and arguing continued the whole 20 minute car ride home until Mommy lost it when we got home. After eating dinner, things were looking better. Bedtime came early at 7:45 and both kids were out quickly.
I then finished the evening by going to a neighbor's house for Bible study. We are reading the book Unglued by Lysa Terkeurst and then discussing, though I have to admit I did not read 1 page the last 2 weeks. Oh, well, it was still good to go and chat with everyone.
