BlogHop: Recipes

This week on the BlogHop we are writing about our favorite recipes. Being in Texas, we love us some Tex-Mex and one of the best things about it is the queso. I went to a birthday party for a friend's little boy a few months ago and she had the very best queso I have ever had in my life, so I had to get the recipe and share. So without further ado:

Bethany's Famous Cheese Queso

2 lbs Velveeta cheese

1 lb Mild Mexican Velveeta cheese

1 lb ground beef

1 lb pork sausage (this is the tube of breakfast sausage)

1 can mushroom soup

1 can Rotel tomatoes (if you are not in the South, this is tomatoes with green chilies in it)

1/2 sweet onion, chopped

1/2 red bell pepper, chopped

Melt cheeses in crock pot. Brown beef and sausage together. Drain off grease and add to cheese. Add soup, Rotel tomatoes, onion and bell peppers.

Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!!!

McLinky's Blog Hop - 3 Things You Didn't Know About Me (or Us)

This week, on MckLinky's Blog Hop, the theme is 3 Things You Didn't Know About Me (or Us)! So here we go:

1. I have never been outside of the US or Mexico. I would love to visit Greece, Italy and the Holy Land one day, but as of right now I have only been in these 2 countries. We went to Hawaii a few years ago and that is the farthest I have ever been away from home.

2. I played the baby bass drum in high school. I am kind of a petite person and don't look like someone that could carry a drum, but I carried that thing around for 2 football seasons. I loved it! We are having a reunion in October and I can't wait to get back in the stands and play all the candences (spelling?) again!

3. My hubby and I are 5 years apart in age. He was a working with the youth group at my church and I was a senior in high school when we met. For the first year, we had to pretend like we were not dating so that he could continue working with the youth!

I decided that I was going to participate in the MckLinky BlogHop this week. I had never heard of it before, but it looks like fun. This week is our favorite photos!

This was taken at Thanksgiving in 2007. It was freezing cold and we were sitting outside at the parade. I love that we are snuggled up under lots of blankets.
